The Horoscope of Shri Ram ji : Ramanavami Special

Jai Shri Ram to all devotees. On the special occasion of Ram Navami, I would like to humbly help you understand the horoscope of the incarnation of Vishnu Ji, for whom I am lucky enough to have the horoscope as borrowed from Phaldeepika, and apply my God-given knowledge of astrology for understanding the wisdom of Shri Ram Bhagwan.

The ascendant of Shri Ram Ji is Cancer, the zodiac sign which is known for its inherent universal consciousness, where the planet Jupiter—having the element of ether, meaning Akash—in conjunction with the watery Moon in a watery sign gave him the wisdom of the universe, but which came with war and suffering. This is due to Jupiter being exalted in the ascendant as the 6th house lord of war and enemies; but being in a strong position, it manifested Ram Ji as the one who fought for righteousness, as also can be witnessed with the exalted 9th lord and exalted Venus established there.

The Jupiter is highly afflicted from the aspect of Saturn and Mars, but because both are exalted, they ultimately worked in Ram Ji’s favour. The Panchmahapurush Yoga of Jupiter provided him with the ultimate truth; the yoga of exalted Saturn with a temporary ascetic life, one that led to the transformation of a being a God; and the exaltation of Mars in the 7th house that built a warrior capable of defeating the evil that existed.

The Jupiter is placed in the ascendant only, while Saturn is in the 4th house, Mars is in the 7th house, and Sun is in the 10th house. The reason behind such specific placement is: when two planets are exalted simultaneously opposing each other, life becomes completely disbalanced. Ram Ji led a life of sudden changes that at first looked negative, but ultimately achieved the purpose one was born with; and so Jupiter sits in the ascendant to manifest the personality of righteousness. Saturn sits in the house of mind, providing patience with determination, where being the 8th lord exalted in the 4th house shows loss and gain of a new perception of life, opposed by the enemy exalted Sun, which can act in providing ego; but as Mars, being in the 10th house from the 10th house of Sun, gives it a proper direction.

The spiritual trine lords are connected where ascendant lord Moon, 5th lord Mars, and 9th lord Jupiter aspect each other. The 8th and 2nd lords, being Saturn and Sun, aspecting each other led to the loss of the kingdom, but the 11th lord exalted in the 3rd from the 10th lord, being Upachaya, led to the reclaim of it.

The 9th house is the Guru, and 9th from the 9th is considered a devotee, where the 5th house lord being exalted Mars—the signification of Hanuman Ji—became a symbol of unconditional service for Ram Ji for overcoming the adversities. Ketu in Sagittarius acts as a warrior where the 6th house of fight and intuition, with Ketu being intuitive, helped Ram Ji overcome enemies with spiritual power. The killer instinct came from exalted Saturn aspecting Ketu, which also led to his exile.

The 6th house is 10th from the 9th house and 9th from the 10th house, which shows the culmination of Dharma and Karma, which only came with exile due to the impact of Saturn and Ketu on it. The exalted Venus in the 9th house helped Ram Ji achieve peace but only with a fight; at the same time, the 9th house being of alliances led to the luck of having the support of Vanarsena and Hanuman Ji. Venus here acts as a spiritual warrior being in Kendra from Ketu, which first led to the detachment from his consort only to vanish the evil from Earth, Saturn being in the 8th house from Venus.

Sun exalted in the 10th house with the aspect of Ketu shows a warrior who walked on pilgrimage all alone, where the world follows him later. The 10th house is deeds and mission, where the Sun provided the illuminated path only to vanish the darkness that the opposing exalted Saturn casted upon. Here, one needs to understand the principle that the 10th house is a stronger Kendra than the 4th, and so the exaltation of Sun wins over the exaltation of Saturn. The ascendant is a stronger Kendra than the 7th house, and so the exaltation of Jupiter wins over the exaltation of Mars.

The strength of winners, being Jupiter and Sun, shows the Dharma established with Ram Ji’s existence. Mercury, the intellect, sits in the 11th house in the sign of Taurus, which Venus rules and Moon exalts. The culmination of mind (Moon), senses (Venus), and intellect (Mercury), along with the 11th house of achievement, manifested a being capable of mastering all three.

The dispositor of Mercury is exalted in the 9th house, which tells us that to master all three, you need to surrender to your spiritual self, which Ram Ji practised in his existence. Observe that Mercury has no aspect of any planet, which shows unwavering intellect and expression. But Mercury here, being the 12th lord, also gives sorrow where the ideal life does not meet reality. This position also provides one with the thought of providing one with a mission or a path leading to a contribution to the society.

Rahu in the Gemini in the 12th house acts as a manifestation of deep perception of universal consciousness along with a sharp intellect that comes as a gift from the subconscious. At the same time, Rahu here helps in becoming a medium for paranormal powers through whom the souls get peace, but which caused Ram Ji a great load of pain.

The 12th house from every house is the loss of it, where the karmic planet Rahu sits in the 12th from the ascendant; this led to a mission which made Ram Ji separate oneself from one’s life to fight a war one didn’t wanted. Having Ketu in the 12th house from Mars and the 7th house—the temporary loss of wife—tells us the inevitability of karmic Rahu and Ketu playing their role.

Ram Ji achieved the greatness after defeating Ravana, leading to the understanding of the incarnation of Vishnu Ji as the personification of Sun, Surya, where the Arudha ascendant of Ram Ji sits in Aries with exalted Sun; and so he is worshipped by his devotees as the one who illuminates the path of life.
