Why Marriage is Prohibited during Sun’s Transit in Sagittarius and Pisces ?

In many ancient texts on Muhurat, the transit of the Sun through Sagittarius and Pisces is considered an inauspicious period for marriage. The primary reason is based on the Sun’s strength and the lunar calendar cycles. When the Sun enters Sagittarius, it marks the end of the Dakshinayan phase, a period when the Sun’s energy is at its weakest. Similarly, the Sun’s transit in Pisces occurs at the very end of the Hindu lunar year. Auspicious ceremonies like marriage are traditionally performed only after the commencement of the Hindu New Year, which begins on Chaitra Shukla Paksha Pratipada and mainly after when Sun enters Aries. 

Prohibited Periods for Marriage:

• From 14th December 2025 to 14th January 2026.

• From 13th March 2026 to 13th April 2026.

मुहूर्त शास्त्र के कई प्राचीन ग्रंथों में, धनु और मीन राशि में सूर्य के गोचर (संचरण) को विवाह के लिए निषेध माना गया है। इसका सबसे सरल कारण यह है कि जब सूर्य धनु राशि में होता है, तब वह 'दक्षिणायन' चरण के अंत में होता है, जहाँ सूर्य का प्रभाव सबसे निर्बल होता है। इसी प्रकार, मीन राशि में सूर्य का गोचर हिंदू वर्ष के अंत का प्रतीक है। हिंदू मान्यताओं के अनुसार, विवाह जैसे मांगलिक कार्य चैत्र शुक्ल पक्ष प्रतिपदा, अर्थात हिंदू नववर्ष के आरंभ होने के पश्चात ही संपन्न किए जाने चाहिए।

विवाह के लिए वर्जित समय:

• 14 दिसंबर 2025 से 14 जनवरी 2026 तक।

• 13 मार्च 2026 से 13 अप्रैल 2026 तक।
