Sagittarius (धनु)

Sagittarius, the fiery spiritual sign, has a centaur (half human, half horse) as its representation, ruled by Jupiter. This gives way to the spiritual warrior energy, helping the individual change the world with sheer willpower, with its energy rooted in divinity. The half-horse, half-human is the representation of the strength that lies in the human being; if one runs with a purpose in life, one will surely attain ambitions no matter the cost under the energy of Sagittarius. No planet exalts or debilitates in this sign, showing the concentrated, balanced divinity within.

While walking towards righteousness, as shown by Sagittarius, various obstacles and transformations take place. The Moola nakshatra (Ketu) manifests birth and death processes in the individual, both for making one better or worse. Righteousness can also turn into unrighteousness with a single circumstance, as Ketu is headless energy, without discrimination. The nakshatra of Purvashadha (Venus) falling in the sign of Jupiter showcases a show-off of knowledge, resources and a desire for glitz and glamour through them. The energy of Venus makes the person famous and known for their achievements. The next phase of Sagittarius lies in the nakshatra of Uttara Ashadha (Sun), manifesting the dharmic warrior within oneself, fighting for what is right by their principles, hence the freedom-fighting quality of Sagittarius represented by a horse, which in ancient times was used in combat. The passion for the divine, to attain spiritual knowledge, manifests on a deep level in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is auspiciously related to Aries, representing primeval birth, meaning the beginning of the universal divine energy. Sagittarius’s symbol is an arrow upwards, showing the aim of attaining spiritual heights, where the individual lives a life of great austerity and penance, detaching from the material world.
