Queen Elizabeth Horoscope : Argala in Astrology

There is a basic concept in Vedic astrology called Argala, where we see how every house is getting the support of which planets, and if they are not able to give good results, then what is the obstruction (Virodh Argala) that is causing it.

So, the basic rules are as follows: to see for any house, the 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 11th houses from it must have planets to support that house, and the more planets there are, the stronger the house will be.

While those houses can get support, if a greater number of planets or stronger ones obstruct them, then good results feel the delay or denial of it. Where for any planet in the 2nd from a house, if the 12th from that house has a planet, then the obstruction occurs, and the good results that a certain house could get from having a planet in the 2nd to it are stopped by the 12th from it.

Likewise, the planets in the 4th from any house are obstructed by having planets in the 10th from that place; having the support of a planet in the 5th from any house is obstructed by 9th house planets; and support from the 11th house is obstructed by the 3rd house having any planets.

To help you understand this very clearly, it helps in understanding the deception we see in planets that could have given results but did not, and how Argala works.

Let us see the example of when Queen Elizabeth became queen, which houses were getting Argala, and why in only that period she rose to power.

Queen Elizabeth became the queen on February 6th, 1952. At that time, she was running Venus Mahadasha and Rahu Antardasha.

To rise in power, the 5th and 9th houses are mainly considered. To see which Argalas are supporting these houses, we will analyze them one by one.

The 5th house has a strong Moon in the 4th house from it, but it is obstructed by Mars in the 10th from it, so Moon and Mars periods are not supportive. The 2nd and 5th houses have no planets, but the 11th house from the 5th (being the 3rd house) has Venus and Jupiter, where the obstruction comes from Rahu. As two planets are stronger than one, the obstruction does not work, and the Venus Dasha supports the rise.

The 9th house has Argala from Saturn, Ketu, Mars, and Rahu, which is very strong. The Ketu Argala is obstructed by the Sun, Saturn is retrograde, and Mars was the obstructer of the 5th house Argala, leaving only Rahu Argala for the 9th house as unobstructed. The 7th house is also seen for a rise in status.

So, in the Dasha of Venus–Rahu, she became one of the most powerful queens in the world, whose reign lasted for 70 years.

It lasted as long as these Argalas were supportive to the Dasha period. After the Venus period came the Sun, which has support Argala from Venus and Jupiter and sits exalted in the 5th house. Then the Moon Dasha came, which provides Argala to the 5th house. This Argala was obstructed by exalted Mars from the 10th house from it, and so between 1970 and 1980, while the Moon Dasha ran, she faced many challenges exercising her role when the UK hung parliament happened, followed by the Australian constitutional crisis. This period was also marked by labor strikes, civil unrest, and struggling to handle the powers of Margaret Thatcher.

Then the Mars Dasha came, which is itself the exalted 5th lord having support from Venus, Jupiter, and the Sun. Then the Rahu Dasha came, which provides Argala to the 9th house, after which came the Dasha of Jupiter, which provides Argala to the 5th house. And so, constant support was present for her to remain powerful her whole life.
