Pushya Nakshatra: Wisdom and Purity

Pushya Nakshatra extends from 93 degrees 20 minutes to 106 degrees 40 minutes within Cancer, a sign ruled by the Moon. As a result, its fundamental nature is one of nourishment. Those born under this nakshatra, influenced by any planetary energy, find a flawless and effortless purity and divinity within themselves.

Considered the most auspicious nakshatra, Pushya embodies the energy of Cancer, where universal consciousness exists. This allows a native to become one with cosmic energy with minimal effort. Consequently, any pure-hearted desire is easily fulfilled.

The Vedic deity of Pushya is Brihaspati (Jupiter), and Saturn holds lordship over the nakshatra. The combined energy of Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon gives those it influences a profound wisdom, acquired automatically without the need for personal experience. Jupiter’s expansive nature, which is exalted here, is grounded by Saturn’s lordship, which helps bring out a philosophical and well-rounded personality.

Pushya's symbol is a flower, representing one's potential to bloom in a supportive environment where latent qualities and talents can emerge through proper guidance and nourishment. The lotus, a specific type of flower, symbolizes spiritual perfection. Just as a lotus exists in perfect symmetry, the lives of these individuals help them achieve their destined goals through a specific journey that is aligned in their favor.

However, sometimes this nakshatra provides so many comforts that a person can become spoiled, especially if Saturn is not a dominant influence. Saturn, the planet of ego-maturity, ensures that these individuals feel like old souls—much more mature and older than their current age. Their innate gift of emotional maturity becomes evident to others. The purification of the psyche that happens at Pushya Nakshatra makes them some of the purest souls in our community.

Under Pushya nakshatra, any auspicious deed can be performed except marriage when finding out muhurat.
