1st house
The 1st house in one's horoscope is the most important and is called the ascendant or lagna. It shows the whole life, the constant circumstances and surroundings that the person will be in, his mindset, childhood, health, and overall aspects. Through this house one sees the level of life one will live in his lifetime. It shows both growth and downfall depending upon the planets it gets associated with. It represents the person and his personality, the physical and mental body, the way the person will react to the world, and the way they showcase themselves.
2nd house
The 2nd house represents the accumulation of everything, whether it is wealth, knowledge, experiences, or family. It rules over one's oratory and writing skills, the way you express yourself to the world, and how you understand and manage finance. It is also the maraka house and manifests diseases and illnesses.
3rd house
The 3rd house represents valour, willpower, bravery, younger siblings, and the way one showcases their action with initiative power and the will to act. Where one will travel for short terms and short distances, air, rail, and roadway travel. As it is the 8th house from the 8th, it also shows longevity. It also rules over neighbours, associates, and friendships.
4th house
The 4th house represents our consciousness, mind, imagination, mother, and domestic environment. How one feels being at home, mental stability, and happiness through both material and spiritual pursuits. It also shows the scale to which the person will become materially successful, fixed and movable assets and issues through them, and mainly contributes to the transformation of the native's perception of life. It is also the house of the public.
5th house
The 5th house indicates one's intelligence, creativity, and risk-taking ability. It is also the house of past karma, mantra shakti, children, and our relation with them. The stronger this house, the easier life becomes, for one can attain anything without much hard work. It is also considered the house of great wealth, which is earned from good past-life karmas and also manifests one's fame and recognition.
6th house
The 6th house represents one's latent powers, the siddhis one can attain through spirituality. It also showcases illness, litigation, government bodies, public service or getting service through them, and overall obstacles in life. It also represents dharmic karma and the tendency to fight for your principles. A militaristic point of view is also seen from this house.
7th house
The 7th house represents one's relation with everyone, be it public, spouse, business partners, etc. It also shows how one balances the overall aspects of life. Like the 2nd house, the 7th house is also a maraka place showing illness and diseases. It represents one's status in public, how one behaves in the outside world, and one's deeds through others's influence.
8th house
The 8th house shows one's hidden talents, curiosity to know the secrets of life, occult studies, one's longevity, the initiation and action that comes from sudden impulse, and one's subconscious forces. It is considered the house of evil spirits, as one cannot see what is hidden and so showcases the fears and phobias of different things. It also indicates the manner of death both in terms of our physical body and perception and brings in transformations that are inevitable and cannot be altered. This house also indicates inheritance.
9th house
The 9th house represents the spiritual forces, the good, that is, the auspicious energy, and the divinity within oneself. It also represents our father, teacher, and our selfless deeds for the underprivileged. One's spiritual deeds and ups and downs with it, becoming part of organisations both related to true and false practices in the name of the divine, are also seen from the 9th house. One's luck factor depends upon the strength of the 9th house. Long-distance travel and pilgrimages are also seen from them.
10th house
The 10th house indicates one's karma, reputation in the public, recognition, and overall deeds in one's life. It also shows how one deals with life, what action one's taken to control every situation, and one's reaction to external stimuli and public life. As this house sits in the sign of Capricorn of Saturn, it shows a hard-working tendency and one's thought of changing circumstances through actions. This house is also seen as one's father and the material advantage we get through them.
11th house
The 11th house indicates one's achievements, gains, accumulation of all kinds of resources, what one does with those resources, contacts and friendships with all kinds of people, and gains through them. How one earns, the kind of people he surrounds himself with, and continuing to grow the same. It also shows power earned through one's resources and relations with people.
12th house
The 12th house indicates one's losses, expenditures, humiliation, illness, and loss of all sorts of kinds. It also shows detachment, one's subconscious force that leads one to do something not thought upon for the good or worse, one's bed comfort and sexual pleasure, and at the same time, the pleasure one gets from selfless deeds and spirituality. It is the house of transformation, which comes through loss of the things that one is close to.
